You Should Always Look for the American Dental Association Seal on Your Oral Care Products

Posted .

The American Dental Association’s goal is to help individuals and families maintain strong teeth and a healthy mouth. This includes a series of recommendations, guidelines, and informational tools.

This starts with advising you to thoroughly brush your teeth each morning and night with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoridated toothpaste. You should also make sure to thoroughly floss between each of your teeth, as well as along the gumline.

The quality of the oral care products that you use can also weigh heavily on the overall effectiveness of your oral hygiene regimen.

To address this issue, the American Dental Association instituted their Seal of Acceptance program. This involves testing and researching submitted oral hygiene products to ensure that they meet high standards to be used in a daily oral hygiene regimen

If a submitted oral hygiene product meets the ADA’s requirements for safety and effectiveness, the manufacturer can print the ADA’S logo on their packaging.

The American Dental Association further maintains a comprehensive index of approved products on their website. This is designed to help you conveniently research oral hygiene products.

If you live in the Salina, Utah, area, and if you have an oral hygiene concern, you should call 435-529-1000 to schedule a dental checkup with our dentist, Dr. Barry Sorenson, and the staff Salina Creek Dental.
